a career in dance
Week after week, you guys submit AMAZING + inspiring comments on the blog and in ‘Help Us Design’. Many of you have expressed how much you love to dance and how you want dance to be a part of your life forever.
And it made us wonder: do you know about all of the dream jobs that are out there that involve your love for dance?!
For example,…did you know you could be a Product Stylist for ivivva!?! If you love fashion, creativity, dance, and story-telling, you would be PERFECT for this exciting job.
Meet Alicia – former dancer – and our very own ivivva Product Stylist!
Alicia is a super important member of the ivivva creative team as she styles all of the ivivva outfits for the photoshoots and videos and then works closely to help develop all of the creative pieces.
We asked her 3 questions to help YOU figure out if this might be something you want to do one day:
1. Alicia, what are 3 things you do in your job now:
Well, part of my job is to be a talent scout – I discover and select the amazingly talented dancers that are featured in our campaigns. Then I am the stylist for all of our photo shoots – this means that I work closely with the dancers, choose what they wear and help make sure our awesome product shines in the photography! 
Also, as a member of the creative team, I help create the stories we tell through all of our online channels. Every day is different – and so much fun!
2. What did you like when you were a teenager that is similar to what you do in your job now?
I have always been inspired by fashion, art and design. When I was 14 I would cut out pictures from magazines and create giant inspiration collages on my bedroom wall.
3. What do you think makes you good at your job?
My background as a dancer allows me to draw inspiration from my own experiences. I know what it is like because I have been there.

Hi Jess! Oh my gosh – we had some hiccups on the USA site last week which affected the final curtain call! We had to take it down for a little bit to fix the problem. It’ll be up and running again really soon – thanks so much for your patience!

I love art all art like painting drawing colouring molding things into or on cardboard. Some people think its hard to mold clay but I just say not if you have a ton of practice
I want to be an artist because I enjoy it very much and I want people to think like thats amazing I want to try it maybe I can be an artist too especialy kids. If I can’t be an artist then I will be a tatoo artist and if I can’t do that singer at home I practice singing

My daughters are figure skaters and dancers. We just attended a Design Party in Scottsdale. Yay!!! My question is when will there be Movers and Shakers in the U.S.? Of course, modeling for them would be great, but since we are such believers in giving back to the community, I would love for them to be able to spread their message and share their experience with sewing for charity. Please let us know when you begin the search for Movers and Shakers. Thanks!

Great question! We find our Movers and Shakers through our local communities where we have stores. We actually just opened our very first showrooms in the US! They are in New York City, Chicago, Boston, Orange County and Bellevue. So, keep your fingers crossed that we will be making a home in Scottsdale soon and I will be sure to pass along your love for us to our store opening team.

On dancing and skating!
I love your line. It supports me as a dancer and a gymnast. If I had to do two things for the rest of my life I would choose dance and gymnastics. Whenever I an bored I always practise my routine for dance or work on some of my gymnastics moves (ariels, back handsprings, front tuck etc.) I love this line because it is comfortable, stretchy and super cute. Ever since I heard about Ivivva it has been my dream to be a model for you guys. Your clothes are meant for active girls and I always have a hard time finding dance and gymnastics wear for in my size. Whenever I am in dance or gymnastics class I always work my hardest and try to improve every time. Dance and gymnastics are my life. My three essentials in life are: to be able to dance, to be able to do gymnastics and Ivivva clothes. I am totally obsessed with your products. I think I would be a good choice for an Ivivva model.
