We asked the girls a few questions about how they got to be such track super stars:

1. Tell us about a time when you had to overcome a challenge or obstacle to improve your running.

Hannah: Before all of my events I would get super nervous because I was so worried that I would mess up (trip over a hurdle) and disapoint everybody. There was a lot of pressure but I soon realized that I was the one running therefore I decided that from then on I would run my best but, for myself only.

Of course from time to time I still get nervous but when I run races today I do it not to impress anyone but myself and that is what has made all the difference.  

 2. What is your favourite thing about running?

Hannah: My favourite thing about running is that amazing feeling of accomplishment you get when you cross the finish line. Once you have crossed the finish line, whether you have won the race is no longer important because even if you did not win, you still tried your best and completed the race which to me is more important than winning. 

3. What keeps you motivated to push yourself to be the best runner possible?

Cristina: I feel that with every practice I get a step closer to becoming a great athlete that competes all around the world. Maybe even the Olympics one day.

4. What do you think about when you’re sprinting to the finish line?

Hannah: I usually think about how soon the race will be over. If I can focus on how little time I have left, I will probably end up running much faster. 

5. What have you done to make your 100m sprint even faster?

Cristina: I go to weight training to make my muscles stronger and work on my technique. 

6. What is the most important thing to you when it comes to your running?

Hannah: The most important thing for me when it come to running is always trying my best and having a positive attitude. I have been to many track practices and track meets in the pouring rain but have made the best of the situation by embracing it!

We love stretching. It is such a great gift to give your muscles. That’s why we couldn’t be more excited for the launch of the new stretch it out mat.

To celebrate, we threw a sunset yoga class in Newport Beach, California. The class was taught by our awesome friend Jaime Komer, who is a lululemon ambassador.

Jaime reminded us that yoga complements training for all sports. She should know, she’s a former Olympian!

Lots of the ivivva girls who came to our launch event tried yoga for the first time. “It really loosened me up” said Allie, a Huntington Beach runner and field hockey player. “It was awesome to relax and listen to the music and the waves crashing and just breathe and enjoy the moment.”

Who do you think is the best remix DJ out there today?

“Will Smith’s son Trey, aka ‘DJ Ace’, is becoming a very famous DJ. He’s been DJing since he was 15 years old, spinning exclusive events and parties all over Hollywood, New York and Las Vegas. I think we will continue to see his star rising. Another fantastic female DJ is ‘DJ Collette’ from LA, she is one of my favourites!”

1) Get creative!

Get re-inspired through searching instagram hashtags, magazines or your fave websites. Create an inspiration collage and put it somewhere you will see it everyday – it will energize you and keep you committed to the end!

2) Write it down.

Get clear on your #1 goal to achieve by June 2013 and write it down in big bright colourful writing. Writing your goals down helps get you lazer-focused on what is most important to you.

3) Share it + declare it!

Nothing is more powerful than declaring your goals for everyone to hear. By sharing your goals with your friends and family, they will be sure to support you in any way they can.

Why do you love gymnastics? 

Sarah: I love gymnastics because it is a chance for me to get away from all my problems and have a fun time with my friends, while doing something active.

What is your favorite gymnastics move you love to do?

Sarah: I love doing double stag so that I can feel like I am floating for a split second.

What keeps you motivated in gymnastics?

Sarah: Knowing that I am always going to enjoy the sport and the friends that I make while participating in the sport.

What are some new gymnastics moves/routines are you working on mastering right now?

Sarah: Definitely ring turn! I love trying new pivots, but ring turn is one of the hardest for me to master.

Tips from our ivivva Stylist, Alicia Bell!

Assembling the perfect athletic wardrobe can be a puzzling task. Which styles are best for my sport? Which fabrics are moisture wicking? Can that style be worn for multiple activities?

The best way to start building your athletic wardrobe is to start with the most multi-functional pieces. The following styles will take you everywhere from gym class to the yoga studio without lugging around a change of clothes.

These styles are the building blocks for the perfect ivivva girl wardrobe!

1.       Activity Sport Top

A great sport top is a true essential. Wear it under a tank for coverage or alone as a crop top for dance.

Activity Sport Top is so awesome because it is reversible! With one side luon® light and one side circle mesh, your skin can breathe and stay dry.
